With the new iOS 15 being released by Apple, it might be necessary to update manually your Skyle eye tracker on a Windows 10 computer. This is only the case if you have an old firmware on your Skyle eye tracker installed or you are facing these problems:

  • Skyle starts on your iPad, the cursor shows up and

    • You can use eye-tracking (cursor moves), but the Skyle App can not connect to Skyle (red indicator showing)

  • or

    • the LEDs turn off after some seconds (Skyle goes to standby) and the Skyle App cannot connect to Skyle (red indicator showing)

Follow these steps on a Windows 10 computer with internet:

  1. Connect your Skyle with a Micro USB cable to your PC and wait at least 30 seconds (the LEDs should flash once at least). If you don’t have a suitable cable but your computer has a USB-C port, you can directly connect the USB-C cable from Skyle (after removing the iPad from the case and port) to your PC.

  2. Use a browser like Edge, Chrome or Firefox to open the web page skyle.local (or click here: http://skyle.local)

  3. After a short loading time, a web page will show up (Skyle Configuration). In the navigation on the left, click on “Update & Versions:
