Calibration differences and tips & tricks

Calibrating Skyle is the most common task besides positioning that a user is performing. It is necessary to make sure Skyle works the best.

Skyle offers you 4 different calibrations:

  • 9 Point Calibration

  • 5 Point Calibration

  • 2 Point Calibration

  • 1 Point Calibration

The 9-point calibration is the most accurate calibration a user can perform, while the 1-point calibration is the least accurate calibration.

Control the iPad

If the user is interested in controlling the iPad with all its apps with their eyes, a 1-point or 2-point calibration won't be accurate enough to do so. A 5-point calibration also might be too inaccurate, however we have experienced that people use it to control their iPad with the eyes.

Communicate & Games

If the user is interested in communicating with only a specific app, or is interested in games which only require simple gestures to play, a 1-point or 2-point calibration is enough. We have experiences users with concentration difficulties in the past, who benefit from the 1-point and 2-point calibration to play games and communicate with a simple app.

We also recommend using a low gaze pointer speed for the 1-point and 2-point calibration.
