Android EN

One of Android's strengths is that it supports countless different devices from a wide range of providers. Because Android is open source, every provider can adapt the operating system to their needs and those of the customer. Additionally, this operating system is designed for mobile devices, which means that a wired connection is not normally provided.

Before Skyle can be used, a few things have to be kept in mind:

  1. Power: Not every smartphone/tablet supports the USB-C specifications - even if a USB-C port is available. A USB-C Power Delivery hub can help, for example. This in turn has the advantage that the smartphone can be charged at the same time.

  2. Compatibility: Due to the large number of supported devices and, above all, the manufacturer's adjustments to the operating system, it cannot be guaranteed that Skyle is compatible with every Android device. It is possible that several network connections (Ethernet, W-LAN, mobile data) cannot be used simultaneously. This is a property of Android and not Skyle.

  3. Network connection: Skyle communicates with the device via a network connection. This must be set up beforehand. It is possible that several network connections (Ethernet, W-LAN, mobile data) cannot be used simultaneously. This means that you need to turn off wifi and mobile data to use Skyle. This is a feature of Android and not Skyle.

  4. For manufacturers: If you are a manufacturer and create your own operating system, please contact us. For manufacturers, there is an alternative way to connect to your end device.

Setup:

When Skyle is connected to an Android smartphone or tablet, it is recognized as an Ethernet/network device.

Tapping the "Ethernet cable connected" message will take you to the network settings.

There you have to activate the Ethernet interface. Your Android device is now successfully connected to the Skyle eye control and can be used. You can then test the connection by entering the IP "http://192.168.137.2" into the browser. You should now see the following web page:
